The Pro-tem Speaker assumes the role of presiding over the initial session of the Lok Sabha and conducts the swearing-in ceremony for the recently elected Members of Parliament. Additionally, the Pro-tem Speaker oversees the voting process for the appointment of the speaker and deputy speaker. Furthermore, the Pro-tem Speaker is responsible for administering the floor test.
